So I was thinking about the placement of the ignition on my 9-5 wagon, and it occurred to me that if you were to sleep in the wagon with the seats folded down, the ignition would be easily accessible. It's better than trying to climb over the front seats and contort you arm around the steering wheel. You could sleep with your head facing the hood and be able to reach over and turn on the car and the A/C (well, now that I think of it, the A/C is off by default, so you'd have to reach for that button). You could also control all the window functions. I personally love that the stereo will stay on even after you've shut off the car. I'm the sort of person who will sit in my driveway and listen to a CD long after I've turned off the car (it's also nice if you're waiting to pick someone up.) The placement seems natural to me, since I unlock the car with my right hand, and then launch myself into the seat, ending up with the key right by the ignition. The only trouble comes when the keyless entry fob gets in the way of the parking brake.
