No need to take offense at my response - my point was that short belt replacement worked only until belt seated or something (approx 250 miles - 2 months) and then started vibrating and creating the annoying harmonic noise noted in many postings on this site. I even went so far as to change the belt yet again with a genuine Saab belt (as recommended by the dealer) with no corresponding improvement. I, like others, am trying my hardest to ignore the noise when compressor engages or making tight turns at low speeds.
With all due respect, I'm not sure how an impeccable Saab ownership pedigree is relevant in the slightest to those of us who express dismay and dissatisfaction with the unintended consequences associated with the short belt changeover. Noise is noise, be it from a Saab or a Hyundai. My fear is that Saab put as much thought into short belt mod as they did into the series of ill conceived PCV "fixes".
That being said, I'm glad it's working out for some, including you.
