For starters follow all maintenance procedures specified in the owners manual for the 30K miles interval. Although only specified for 60K mile consider replacing the fuel filter, replacing the brake fluid, and flushing the cooling system and replacing the coolant.
Give extra attention to wear on the ball joints, tie rod ends, and condition of the inner and outer universal joint covers. Also, go over the exhaust system carefully for leaks (the center section is the weak link). If you've never replaced the battery do it now...or wait for a surprise this winter. If you've never replaced the struts and shocks they're at the end of their life...Koni's and Bilsteins are cheaper than OEM....at Tire Rack.
If you've never replaced the serpentine belt and pulleys do it now. The 60K mile interval that SAAB recommends should be taken seriously....or, you will find yourself stuck in the middle of nowhere. Obvious failure symptoms are the alternator light and loss of power steering. The water pump will cease operation....that's the biggest reason you have to stop immediately to avoid cooking the engine.
I'm not a big fan of fixing minor oil leaks....but, there does come a point where you have to act.
By the way, I have a 2000 9-5 Aero with 253K miles.....so, quality maintenance does pay off. You could have another 90K miles or 2 or 3.
