It's all good and cool.... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Thu, 15 Sep 2005 14:04:15 In Reply to: Aero Wagon Purchase Advice, RBatsch, Wed, 14 Sep 2005 14:45:53 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Don't get hung up on the manual trans for an Aero SportWagon, especially with the 5 speed auto in the 2002's and up. More than one die hard stick driver has been tricked or forced into a 5 speed auto Aero and become quite fond of it, even going as far as preferring it. The 9-5 Aero's power makes the auto a good choice, something that woulda' been unthinkable in an '86 900.
Meanwhile it all good. There's no reason to reject any year 9-5 Aero SportWagon. I drive the new ones all the time and I'm quite happy with my 2000. 2002's did receive the mid-cycle enhancements including the 5 speed auto and the killer sport seats. 2004 Aeros got the projector beam fog lights with new front and rear valances.
Leased vehicle returns have a better chance of being well cared for than other classes of vehicle owners. Not everyone qualifies for a lease and the cars are usually inside of warranty and free service requirements. Do consider a Certified Pre Owned at your local Saab dealer. Many folks on these BB's swear by the Certified Saab factory warranty.
I personally find a 9-5 Aero to be a much better, tighter, better riding and handling, more luxurious car than a 9-3 Viggen.
