I broke two Craftsman sockets trying to remove the caliper brackets using an 18" breaker bar plus a piece of pipe on the end! Finally put a torch on the bolts and warmed them up, then had no trouble removing them. It appears they are installed with Loctite, the kind that needs to be heated in order to remove. I reinstalled using Loctite and remembered to heat them up next time too!
Also, my rotors were stuck to the hubs and would not budge, so I sprayed liberally with penetrating oil, held tension on them with a pry bar and whacked them with hammer - they popped right off!
Putting the caliper springs back is easy - if you can bench 300 lbs - once you lock the right point in a vise grip, strain to line up the hole, and then tap with a hammer, they go right in!
First time I did the job it took 3 hours and much swearing, the second time 1 hour and no sweat!
