Okay Guy's here's the scoop, Do not use a soldering iron to fix
missing pixels as the soldering iron melts some solders around 300 degrees
which will melt the ribbon cable and ruin any chance in fixing the connection. The ribbon cables are made up of two layers a mylar with
lead (or something conductive)lines which are sandwiched inbetween the layers with lands exposed at each end. they apply a heat sensitive glue on each end masking out the exposed lands. they then apply heat and pressure to attach these ends on the PCB and LCD to connect them. what happens over time is the glue begins to lift off the PCB and you begin to
lose the connections....(pixels) Guy
