person. Not sure if this applies to US spec 9-5s. I think in an effort to update or look like every other car, the gauges may have lost their SAAB simplicity, elegance, and clarity. It looks like most icons are gone in favor of a text based system. Speedo is now linear. I have grown to like the nonlinearity of the 9-5 speedo - there when you need it, out of the way (so to speak) when you don't. It also looks like the radio may have some hard to reach buttons on the left side (blocked by the steering wheel) as well as being overall less simple to operate with smaller buttons. Paddle shifters may be in a bad location too – can’t know without holding the wheel. I am not sure I like that all the versions of the car look alike – since I have an Aero I like the uniqueness. But then no Aero in the US, so maybe no point in the extra parts/tooling costs.
While it is a better/more comprehensive exterior/interior mid-cycle enhancement than the one in 04, it still leaves behind a dated car in many respects. Have any technical aspects been updated other than the 260 hp? At the least I hope SAAB has added some more sound insulation.
