Throttle Body Issue Resolved

Well I like to DIY and save, but in the face of a probably bad throttle body and no ability to scan/reset the OBDII and trionic fault codes I decided it was time to try out my local indie.
They diagnosed and replaced the throttle body and took care of some other maint and did it all in a day - extremely efficient service. The throttle body was a reasonable $313 for a new OEM replacement and with tax & labor to diagnose&replace it came to about $450. Indie is Petersen automotive in Skokie IL. Thye seem well set up for saabs, they have tech2 and lots of saab service parts in stock.
On the subject of tech2, I wish there was a DIY alternative. I bet any laptop could interface to the car like tech2, given the right serial cable and software. I know hack VAGTool software and cables are available for VW/Audi (for not very much), and BMW scan tools are commercially available for $200, is there anything for saab that covers it all like tech2, not just bare bones OBDII.
Thanks to SWEDECAR for responding to my initial query.
