Scott, good for you! the gold on the contacts build up an oxide and sometimes even though the cables is touching (adding foam layers) it
still will miss some pixels.....adding more will only bow the PCB. in that case you need to burn through the oxide by using a little heat (not to much thats melts the ribbon cable) soldering irons are to hot! I've done many now and I use a scope to magnify the connections so that I can do each one seperately. I then remelt the glue around the pads. I tested one recently to see how well the glue stuck and it actually torn the ribbon cable instead of coming off the pcb. (was junk anyways)
