Interesting question. Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Sat, 22 Oct 2005 11:57:22 In Reply to: What if he buy an aero ECU off a junk yard???, dmz789b, Fri, 21 Oct 2005 19:31:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The car will probably perform like an Aero by plugging the ECU in but I wonder what would happen when trying to load updated software into it.
The VIN number of the car is loaded in another computer so I don't know if it would be a problem when the Saab scan tool compares notes (if it even does) between the software/hardware in the Trionic ECU and the VIN logged in DICE.
I have only had a couple of cars in the shop with different chipped computers and those came back as not recognized when hooking up the Saab tool and comparing software.
