Change the fluid..... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 5 Nov 2005 06:37:58 In Reply to: Transmission fluid change ?, Ryan [Profile/Gallery] , Fri, 4 Nov 2005 21:27:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It is an easy D-I-Y job. You will need a 24mm wrench, an oil drain pan, a funnel with a narrow tip (you pour the new oil down thru the dip-stick tube), and four quarts of Dexron III transmission fluid (Texaco Havoline is Saab's recommended brand).
Drain the old fluid out, pour three quarts of the new fluid in, check fluid level as per Owner's Manual instructions, top off with additional fluid from fourth quart if needed.
The only tricky part may be locating the tranny oil drain plug. Search old posts for location details.
