Car wouldn't start, but came back to life today..

This evening my great 2001 9-5 2.3lpt automatic wagon with 72,000 miles did something wierd. I approached a location, had to back up at an odd angle on a hill into a driveway, put the car in park, but missed, so I had to shove it further. Set the e-brake. pulled the key and got out. When it was time 3 minutes later to move the car, I turned the key, and all the lights came on the dashboard but no sound, no clicking, no starting/chugging, anything occured at all. I tried three more times and it was just lit up, but dead. Maybe 4 minutes later I tried and it turned right on. Drove home, 18 miles or so, fairly hard driving and parked. Turned it off, turned it back on and it seems fine.
Any ideas? I'm thinking the not-quite-in-park situation did it, combined with parking on an odd angle, yet in San Francisco, the angle part happens a lot. Suggestions welcome. Thanks!
