Engine oil overfill question Posted by IanC [Email] (#139) [Profile/Gallery] (more from IanC) on Sun, 15 Jan 2006 18:47:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I had my 04 Aero SW serviced at a Saab dealer on Monday - checked the oil today and noticed they had overfilled. Hard to say how much but I think about 3/4 - 1 quart (based on the "precision" dipstick).
What possible consequences are there? I drove the car quite a bit since it was serviced. Also, what if anything should I do with the dealer? I've thought about calling to complain and asking them to add the fact that they overfilled it to the car's service record to help with possible negative consequences down the road.
Unbelievably frustrating to have to check their work and then to get under the car and drain oil on a nasty, cold New England day. But I guess you can't even trust the dealer...
Thanks!
Ian
