I am a non-mechanic and did the oil pan (sludge check) on my 2000 Aero. I reckon if I had a car hoist and had done the job 1-2 times before I could have done it in 2-3 hours. All you have to remove is the FR wheel, inner gaurd and undertray-thingy, then front pipe section and oil pan. Easy as...
Of course at home it took 2-3 times more than that.
My Indy quoted me about au$500 (us$380) to remove and clean the pan, and modify the pickup screen. Very fair given what I ended up taking.
As for pads and rotors, that's childs play. If $640 includes parts then it's not so bad (check local suppliers prices), I wouldn't think it should be much more than 1-2 hours labour on top of parts. Though in these days of ABS and TCS maybe it's more complicated...
Cheers
Steve
