Paint/Clear Coat

I purchased a 2000 9-5 wagon demo with a minor ding in the right rear qtr panel. Dealer did a crappy job on body where they sanded and did not feather out the panel (right by the line going across the pane). It looked like dripped paint but I suspect it was the sanding. Anyway. Took it back, they fixed it and I guess they wet sanded it - the drips are gone but they obviously did not repaint (they only had the car for a few hours) Should I be concerned about the clear coat? Does wet sanding damage clear coat? They said that they guarantee body work for life and if I ever have a problem yada yada yada. Just curious if anyone knows. I am going to purchase the Zaino stuff to get rid of the swirls they left in the finish - but they are not too too bad. Thanks for your help. This is a great site for obsessive car owners!
