I am not necessarily an "aero" guy... it is just that this 97 9000 Aero was just the right price. Obviously the upgrade is nice, but I am coming from a 96 900S 2.3 NA. To be honest, I was looking in the sub $10K range, so that would put me with a 2000 base at newest, I believe. As said before, the price point is what had me looking past 9000's: but if it gets too much different, I would most likely go the 9000 route. Not afraid to maintain as long as I don't get a lemon.
I would definitely want to stay with the 2.3, even with people saying good things about the V6. I have gotten to know my way around the 2.3 in the NG, and I have a certain attachment.
The "sport" button on the automatics? Is that only for the V6's? I am assuming it changes RPM shift points? I'll have to read more, I guess.
Other thoughts: hmm. Heated seats sure have been nice. Would be hard to see them go. The headbolt design was bad around these years from what I understand. Keys for me are finding a rust-state free one with good oil pressure. What about other problem spots. I have searched some, but would like a definitive list. Heater core / valve? Other things? Anybody got these summed up in a web page somewhere?
thanks a lot for the input so far.
