Just take the advice of poster Piotr...take out the SID and ACC to get access to the backside of the dash. You can then feel your way around to retrieve the old displaced switch, unplug it and take it out from the backside. The design of the emergency flasher switch has two metal clips which depress and spring back when you insert a new switch through the front of the dash. The molded plastic trim ring is what anchors the front, until it cracks and breaks away from the switch body and the whole thing can then disappear back behind the dash. Trying to "fish" the switch out from the front will only risk scratching up or cracking the dash face. I bought a used switch off EBay, but perhaps I could have tried taking the old switch out and epoxying the trim ring back together...Glueing the perfectly operational switch to the dash might be a totally cheap alternative, but not cool...and stupid, actually...
Best of Luck,
Kirk D.
