Any highline car with 80k can be a maintenance bill waiting to happen, but there's less likelyhood of that with a 9-5 than any previous or current Saab and including virtually every other European car, which is to say 9-5's are overall very reliable and durable more so than any other Saab and more so than just about any other European car say some consumer magazines. And if you've nursed a 9000 to 210k than you know the territory.
For one example it's very unusual for a 9-5 to need any tranny work as the Aisin Warner boxes are quite bulletproof.
As for the power a 2.3LPT is plenty zippy. In normal driving it feels very much the same as an Aero, it's just at higher speeds the LPT motor lacks. Around town fine, stomp on it at 80mph and you'll notice a big difference.
Great price, damn good if it checks out, not a steal, but substantially under what a Saab dealer might ask for the car. And a very cool Saab, the ultimate hatchback.
