Changing Auto Tranny Fluid

Always had manual tranny until my 1999 9-5 . Had the dealer do the transmission fluid flush with the machine while the car was getting a ton of warranty work at 49,000 miles.(saved it up for one inconvenient visit)
Now at 100k the fluid is less than bright pink so time to change the fluid. The dealer charged $ 200 to do the flush, I've located one of those transmission repair places that will do it for $ 139, saying they have the tools and have done it on Saabs before. Many other places with the flush machine will not work on Saabs. A Saab Indy wanted $ 268 to do it.
Two questions - how much better (if it is ) is the flush then the partial drain and fill method many follow on here. The machine gets the torque converter fluid out, where as the other method does not ?
Secondly had anyone had expereince using the transmissions shops they care to share ?
thanks
