So I was determined to locate the source of this annoying noise while driving home last night. After fiddling with the rear-view mirror and the ACC, I opened the glovebox door to get a better listen to it - and the noise stopped. Closed the door, noise returned. Opened it, noise stopped. I came to a light, and realized the culprit is a dash that seems to vibrate noticeably at idle, a little less so at speed.

So I guess the next question is - what would cause the dash to vibrate so much, especially at idle? It isn't the engine RPMs jumping around. Could this be engine mounts? Transmission? I don't think it affects the operation of anything, but it's caused at least one annoying side effect, and I don't want to drive around with my glovebox door open...
