I just bought the 2002 Saab 9-5 Arc on February 3rd, 2006. It now has 46,200 miles and I doubt the transmission fluid has ever been changed? It looked kind of dark instead of the bright redish purple it should be. Someone on this board posted that 3 oil changes will replace 90% of the fluid. I believe it holds a total of 8.5 quarts. BTW, I didn't have a 15/16" combination wrench (socket won't work, not enough room) so I bought a cheap one at Sears (not Craftsmen) for $6.99. Figured it will only be used for the Saab so I won;t wear it out. I just posted the details as several have commented here that they want a fast-lube or Dealer to do it for them. Doing it yourself ensures the correct fluid is installed because YOU put it in. No worries that way.
