Chris, you mention a button for opening the gas filler flap in the passenger door. I thought that the button was in the drivers door. Also if you open the trunk on the passenger side you should find an orange arrow attached to a wire. This is a bypass to manually open the gas door, this will enable you to fill up until you figure out whats what.
