On my '01 wagon at approx the same mileage the front end felt pretty clunky. I lubed the steering column slip joint (search "steering click" for info); checked the lower ball joints - they seemed pretty loose, so I replaced them ($25 ea); then finally replaced the front sway bar end links ($20 ea) to solve the problem 100%.
Total cost about $100 plus a few hours of my time. My car was already off warranty so can't tell you whether it would be covered. I would certainly expect so.
