The 9000 board swears by this stuff. The heater core on the 9K is a major leaker and very expensive to fix. Many have found the use of Bar's stops or prevents the leaking of the heater core without any adverse effect on the radiator or other cooling elements. Others have spoken of tests which show that it does not plug holes in a good radiator, only the leaks.
Apparently a number of auto manufacturers, including some of the top euros, add Bar's at the time of manufacture. Some benefits touted in addition to the plugging ability, are a lubrication of the water pump, and thermostat.
There are radiator stop leaks out there that DO cause problems. Don't think that Bar's Leak is one of them. SHOULD you use it? I haven't heard of the same kind of leaking problems on the 9-5, so probably not. I'm guessing that some of the Bar's believers with tell you otherwise. Just want to weigh in with another opinion here.
