OK, so maybe not 32 reasons but I don't go there that often so it's hard to get into the double digits anyway.

After one service manager told me a few years back that dexron III is fine for my '02 tranny flush & fill I thought I'd heard it all until today, when I had my DIC swapped under the recall. To avoid the loosening bolt syndrome, I asked the sm if they could blue loctite the bolts. No problem, says he. So I pop the hood after the swap, fastidious fellow that I am and yikes, red all over the place. So I dab my finger with the red stuff and show the sm - "hey, what's this?", I ask. "Oh, the loctite you asked for" says he. "But I'll never get the bolts out now without heating the new DIC to destruction", says I. "Nah, red's fine, we use it all the time" says he.

"Argghhhhh", says I!

Thanks be to the parts manager, who came to the rescue as he and I spent another half an hour cleaning out the half a bottle of red poured down those bolt holes before they turned into plastiweld. What a guy.

Go figure.
