I have had this same problem for weeks w/ my 04 Arc - about 34k on the odo. I got the car in late March and it was fine. Then the gas switched over and wham - cold start problems. Seems many folks are having this issue. I'm not sure why every other car on the road can cope with summer gas but not our 9-5s. My specialist seems to think it is because the weather is still relatively cool here in Boston, too cool to be running summer blend.
There were so many suggestions out here. This is what I've tried so far with no - zero, zip, nada - success:
1) dry gas w/ each fillup
2) stick with 93 octane only or better
3) have dealer reflash ECU
4) replace spark plugs w/ BCPR6ES. Many of us use BCPR7ES (always NGK) but Saam standard specs are for the BCPR6ES which are supposed to start easier according to a Saab service bulletin. They don't solve the problem.
5) Techron Concentrate. A full bottle with each fillup. I've used three times so far and no change.
I feel better knowing that others are suffering the same issue. Hopefully our ECUs will learn to cope.
