Yes, high potential for screw-ups, new door rattles, etc. was my reasoning. The '03 9-3 had a known door rattle problem and I do have this on my driver's door. The TSB has them place foam tape along part of the inner door panel for that fix. I also looked at the procedure for replacing the door handles on the 9-3 and at least for that model it did not seem to involve separating the inner and outer door metal. Now THAT would truly scare me if I had a 9-5. I am however tired of looking at this one gray door handle. I guess the other three were from the parts batch that the '04+ 9-3 used which do not turn gray. I only have 10,800 miles on this '03 9-3 and except for inspections, tire rotations, one included synth oil change, and a dead battery replacement, it has not been touched by any dealer techs for trim related items. I suppose it's going to happen sooner or later if I want some of these items dealt with under warranty.
