This goes to show that it is impossible to please everyone.
You want the dust and rotor wear back to gain the softer brake feel.
A pad that create less dust and less rotor wear WILL have a harder pedal feel, it's no way around that. That doesn't mean it is unsafe to drive, it just takes a little bit more push on the pedal.
A soft pad that grabs the rotor to the point where it shaves of metal every time you push the pedal will have a more softer feel in that it takes less pedal effort.
A harder pad that skims on the surface of the rotor instead of digging down into the metal will require more push on the pedal.
Since Saab have approved the Akebono pad from 2005 and up, and to be used on older Saabs too, we can be pretty sure they have tested it enough to feel safe about using it.
