...a few dif. products each time i clean under the hood...
I clean everything with the left over car wash in the bucket after i wash the car (sometimes i water it down), or if i hadn't washed the car before hand, a mild soap and water solution. I then rinse everything with a mist from the hose and dry with clean shop towels. THEN after its dry, use some of my eagle 1 tire wet (or whatever its called) on a rag to apply to the battery cover and all of the plastic under the engine. I apply UV2 (you can get it from the swedish motors store online @ http://www.swedishmotors.com) to the hoses, and sometimes to the plastic but it doesn't shine as bright as the tire shine on the plastic, uv2 is good on everything though, i use it on my leather (don't worry, thats one of its uses, i'm not an idiot, its just a really cool product that works on way too many things). After that i bring out the mothers (or maguires depending on what i have @ the time) instant detailer and shine up the painted areas under the hood. I use these techniques on my spg and 9-5 aero only i don't use tire shine on the spg since that was built when you could actually tell there was an engine in there, in other words, there wasn't a lot of plastic things everywhere. (i would like to note that my mother is the driver of the aero for the most part, so the fact that it looks good a few months later and still shines where i applied the shine, says alot). Hope this helps you, and i suggest you get the uv2 stuff, its worth it, unless you already have stuff.
