Welcome to the wonderful world of a modern automotive repair. If your were a dealer tech, your pay for all this work would be .3 hours X your hourly rate, which is typically from 10% to 30% of the shop labour rate if you stop now and claim no problem found. If you were to find the problem of a bad relay you could claim a little more, but not near enough to cover your time. This is no just a Saab issue, but an industry issue.
I would put a test lamp on the yellow wire (50 circuit) at the starter solenoid. This would eliminate the control circuit. I had a 2000 9-3 with a pinched LF door lock wire that cause an intermittant no start. The key open signal with the ignition switch crank signal confused the TWICE and cause a loss of starter circuit. Just happened to catch it using read values with a Tech II. Sometimes you just get lucky.
Good luck,
Steve C
