Yeah clean carfaxes aren't always great. For example, type in "rebuildable" in the ebay motors search bar and look at all of the wrecked cars that brag about "clean titles" and "clean carfaxes." They are just waiting to be bought from someone who will fix them up and sell them with no proof they were in an accident. Sometimes with accidents or floods people don't contact insurance companies or police and the car's VIN goes unmarked on carfax.
