am not "expert" ... just a "survivor" relying on the tow hook :-)
I'm not certain on the ground clearance of your Aero, but I use one of those "racing jack" with 3.5" min height. While my wife's Linear 9~5 has a lot of room for it (almost too much), I have had no issues whatsoever to use it on my E46 (Sport package).
You're saying Aero has < 3.5" clearance between ground and the jacking point? That's pretty low considering Saab doesn;t have "jack pads".
