Ever since I had my turbo rebuilt, I have had an exhaust leak somewhere that nobody has been able to find. My gut says that it's probably the downpipe/turbo connection.
What would it sound like if there was a leak in that joint?
How can I test that area? could the leak be in the flex part of the downpipe?
Is there a gasket that could have been damaged?
Presently:
I hear an exhaust-like ticking when the engine loads up, past 2000RPM.
I can't reproduce the sound on the stand with the brake on. (Somewhat afraid to overheat the torque converter)
and....
Sound is normally prevalent, however if it has just rained, it is barely noticable (?!) Help me explain this one!
Thanks for the help!
