I was driving my car today at a normal speed when I noticed a "squishing" sound coming from the left driver side air vent. This occurred intermittenly for 30 minutes. Then suddenly the engine's RPM started revving irratically and the car shook violently and felt like it was going to stall. I put it into neutral and the engine stalled. I could restart the car but it would idle irratically and eventually stall. At one point the CEL light started flashing rapidly but that stopped after 10 seconds. I was in rush hour traffic but managed to get the car safely to the curbside and stopped to call Roadside Assist. When I start the car and it goes through its diagnostics, it will check OK. But once I start it, it would rev up to 3000RPM before shaking violently and eventually stall. The DIC was changed about 6 months ago through the recall campaign and I changed my oil (Castrol Syntec 5W40) about 6,000 kms ago - I change mine every 8,000kms. Any ideas? It has been quite an experience for me. The car is at the dealership and I will hopefully find out what happened tomorrow.
