After a disappointing experience with the stock Pirelli P6 Four Seasons on our 2003 9-5 Linear Sportwagon, I decided to try something different. My original P6 Four Seasons were replaced (pro-rated) with another set of the same for excessive road noise after 30,000 miles. With only 20,000 miles on the replacement set, I couldn't take it anymore. I'm not against Pirelli - I love the P-Zero Nero M+S on my 2004 9-5 Aero sedan, but that's a different application.
The Michelin HydroEdge is so smooth and quiet compared to the Pirelli P6 that it actually makes my car feel like new again. The difference is unbelievable. I've had the car in heavy rain a few times, and it performs very well in wet conditions with these tires. We'll see how well it does on snow this winter. The ride and noise level at highway speed are very good.
I know it's early to rate them at only 5,000 miles, but I am very impressed so far. I would definitely recommend them in an application where noise and comfort are a higher priority than all out cornering performance.
