Window tinting is an art. The skill of the person applying the tint and the clarity of the job and the skill of trimming the edges varies considerably. Any yahoo can apply window tint. The quality difference, other than being obvious visually around the edges can be especially noticed at night. Check with your local highline dealers for a recommendation.
That's my issue with tint, fine in the day, but a so-so job can make night driving a problem.
Window tints are calibrated in the amount of light they allow through. 5% is limo tint. You gotta' press your nose against the glass to see inside and then it's still dark. Not recommended for passenger car operation. A limo driver doesn't have to see out. 20 or 20% is considered a dark tint, 35 a medium and 50 a light. There are also many colors to chose from, gray bronze and mirrored. Many folks do the fronts a shade lighter so as not to be too obvious where tinting is frowned on by the law. Techinically illegal to tint front side windows in many states, but a 35 or 50 usually escapes notice.
