The fix...with my name Posted by Herb Hirsch [Email] (#114) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Herb Hirsch) on Wed, 16 Aug 2006 12:35:59 In Reply to: hazard light button, john, Wed, 16 Aug 2006 09:24:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Replacement of the hazard warning switch is straightforward.
1. Remove the SID (display unit immediately below the switch). If needed, unplug the connnector in the back of the SID.
2. Using a flashlight, you should be able to see the switch. Unplug the connector from the back of the hazard switch.
3. Route the hazard switch connector through the hole the switch resides in...from the back.
4. Plug the connector into the new switch...it will only connect one way...it's keyed.
5. Plug the new switch into the dash opening...it too is keyed...it will only go one way. Slow and easy will get you there.
Switches can probably be obtained from Goldwing or English-Swedish much cheaper than a Saab dealer.
6. Actuate the new hzard switch...check results.
7. Plug connector into back of SID. Gently, place SID into its' opening.
