That graph shows friction coefficient versus pedal effort. According to the folks at the Aero Academy one should ideally brake hard and then ease off as they slow down. This results in shortest stopping distances by most effectively converting the higher speed, higher energy to heat faster. It keeps the wheels closer to the locked state. That said, despite trying, I can’t get myself to brake like this in normal driving.
That graph doesn’t show how long one has to be applying X pedal effort to both pads to get a certain friction coefficient. In a low speed panic or typical stop, ceramics might fare worse. In a high speed stop or one where the pads are already warmed up, ceramics would likely fare better. I think for effectiveness, ceramics will always require more pedal effort. Perhaps the brake assist can be tuned specifically for ceramic pads when designing the car.
