Not the valve cover Posted by Joe [Email] (#444) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Joe) on Mon, 11 Sep 2006 05:55:59 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a 2000 lpt with an oil leak on top of the engine, at the valve cover. The leak is at the valve cover for sure, not the head gasket. I changed the valve cover gasket as part of doing a retorque on the head. I still have the leak :-(
The leakage is at the valve cover on the left front side. The valve cover gasket has 3 half moon bits that seal where the cams are. This leak is at the 4th location. Instead of the half moon rubber bit there is a metal plug. I think this is leaking. How does this plug seal to the head? Is this a common leakage point? How do I fix it?
Drive Safe.
