The doors can be programmed to lock automatically when you drive and to unlock automatically when you remove the key from the ignition. Of course this will work fine even if you manually lock the doors when you get in the car, before the car itself has the chance to lock them. This would seem to meet your needs.
I think this is the only semi-automatic way to have your door unlock when you want to get out of the car (if the doors are locked while you are in the car). The other three solutions are to hit the console button, to hit the unlock button on the remote, or to pull up on the door lock.
