Do a search,there is a picture posted here somewhere, I don't have time right now to find it, but if you search for caliper spring you should be able to find it. It's hard to explain how the spring goes on. I had to print the picture and bring it outside before it made sense to me. When I took the tire off to examine it I could see right away that the outer brake pad was actually tilted away from the rotor. If the spring isn't installed right it pulls the pad away from the rotor whenever you release the brake pedal, thats why the pedal never firms up. Good luck!
