I have the same problem. There is a work around that I use. You just bump the 1st gear syncro then go to second. The thing that sucks is that I like to corner fast and it can be a pain to try and get it all done while flying around a curve. Does work fine for stop and go traffic on the highway.

The fix that i am hoping works..... MTF00063 trans fluid. There is a service bulltion that says this can improve shifting. You have to order 5 quarts. I got euro to send at $9 instead of 12.95 normal price since gensaab is selling for 8.50, but was ordering other stuff and euro has "free" shipping. Otherwise they wanted a little above the gensaab to cover shipping. per the bullition you drain fill 2.5q with the car on stands run for 20 seconds drain and fill. You have to do the drain fill to get all of the old fluid out. I have not do this but ordered the parts last week and might get to it this weekend.
