I also have 43k on my '03 Aero and I am wondering if anyone ever gets away with just putting on new pads? It seems like rotors are as consumable as pads themselves (at least that what the brake shops tell you.) Can you be proactive and put on new pads before they start to squeak?
Also, I am still on the original Michelin Pilots and they seem to have plenty of tread left. A few thousand miles per winter with snow tires, but the Pilots must have at least 30k on them and they are still quiet and have great traction.
