We recently had a similar problem with our '00 Aero Wagon. The Service Theft Alarm message has been happening at start up on and off for about 6 months. We've had the siren triggering with no flashing lights, and the inability to turn the thing off (we can even drive up the road with it on). I'd taken to leaving it unlocked at night (in a secure garage). About two weeks ago my wife took the car out during the day, did some shopping, and came back to find the battery deadish. The interior and dashboard lights came on, but there wasn't enough juice to start the car. The local AA sorted her out with a new one, and the errant alarm problem went away. Now, the alarm problem is starting again, and the car is not firing straight away on start-up. I've read the posts here about replacing the siren batteries (my dealer had no idea what the problem was !), but I'm suspicious that there is a connection with battery drain. Forgive my ignorance, as I'm about as mechanically inclined as a chicken.
