Do the recalibrate thing (two buttons depressed at same time, can't remember which, to check for system codes).
Last week, the blower on my 99 9-5 Wagon was noisy. I alternated from full defrost to full upper to full lower, puuting the blower on full, to dislodge the leaves or whatever it was that was causing the vibration. Okay now.
I did have an incident a few years back where the connections to the blower got wet, in a bad snowstorm, and caused intermittent blower operation. It eventually dried out, and came back on-line, but I was sweating it - and learned from this board that the replacement is a difficult DIY job.
Given that you are about to go on a long trip, get it checked - if it is nothing serious, it should give you peace of mind. If it is serious, maybe you can make an alternate arrangement for your trip (rental or whatever). It is a critical component, and if it isn't working correctly you can endanger yourself and others.
