2 things to think about... Posted by Johnson [Email] (#3237) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Johnson) on Thu, 4 Jan 2007 18:17:19 In Reply to: '03 Aero Wagon Auto Transmission failure, Promano, Thu, 4 Jan 2007 10:59:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
In almost two years of being on this board I have never seen somebody mention a failed transmition. About the only real complaints I hear are often solved by a good fluid flush. If I am wrong somebody correct me. but I would think that if a tranny failure was common, or even if it happend just every so often it would be all over this board(take sludge, it only happens to a few, but it is a big deal to everybody here), like everything else. Rarely is there a True new problem, usually it is the same/similar problems, trying to determin those problems and applying the appropraite fix.
The second thing, from personal experience, and from what others have said, Dealerships don't fix anything. They replace. That goes double if you are under warrenty. I am sure that if you were not under warrenty and took your car to a regular tranny shop, they would be able to fix it with few if any new parts. And the cost of the repair would be low-ish and mostly labor(if a repair on a car is EVER really low...)
