I have agree with Norm on this one.
Lately American made cars seem to be designed
to be low cost of operation and low risk of
pothole damage. Sytling seems to concentrate
on coming up with new things, if they're ugly
so be it.
Proper brakes, handling and correctly tunned
suspensions seem to be totaly ignored by GM and
Ford for their US market cars. And the engines
are a total waste of metal.
Honestly if you drive a 9-5 and then drive
most American similar size cars with same or more
HP you will notice that there is a real big problem
at GM and Ford.
Take a Mecury Sable for example. That must be the worst
car in it's size allong with some simmilar Buick, Ford,
Pontiac cars. Handling is non existant and feedback
from the steering wheel and brakes is real bad. Then the
so called Power of that 200Hp engine is at best phlegmatic.
No wonder no one in Europe buys em, you can buy a Renault
or Peugeot that is a far better car.
And then the engines, honestly do they ever drive the cars
they build? Take most US made cars on the Autobahn and
drive em at top speed, they will overheat or nuke their
engines. If not, you're just plain lucky.
But hey I guess that's what the average housewife needs
to go shooping LOL
Then the those same people come on this board to complain
about some "torque steer" in an 9-5 Aero or Viggen. LOL
yeah with those trashy engines as in the Sable, that will
never be a problem... LOL
Regards,
Coolknight
