how often and really, why? lets face it I drive my car to work everyday. I don't race. there are traffic lights. my parking lot has speed bumps. I am old. 95% of my driving is boring.
so if I do these adaptation runs, how long before the car "forgets" those spirited runs down old US 1, and starts to suspect that I am really just an average guy on average roads, and I have to re-adapt it?
And if my car learns that I am a bore (and undoubtedly it has), whats wrong with that? What do I lose?
For example, if switch it into sport mode and mash the gas pedal will take off like an Aero should? or will it say ... "sorry you only get 160 hp today since that is what I determined is all you need".
or worse, will my SID suddenly start to scroll "please trade me in for an oldsmobuick, I have learned the real you" :-)
seriously though, what does it learn and what am I losing by not "adapting" it? it seems to have plenty of punch when I need/want it. I have always read about these adapting runs on the 9000 and now the 9-5 board. what am I missing?
