the sound is normal, and I hear that it even more pronounced with an open air intake.
at 100k you are nearing the 120k maintenance which is pricey if done at the dealer. but you can do it all yourself for a fraction and some time. (and do replace the idler pulleys and tensioner at that time as well as all the recommended stuff ... or now if they were not done at 60k)
aside from that expect:
- Issues with SID (search on SID or Pixels)
- issues with HVAC (search on "blend door" or "code 8")
- steering click/clunk (search for "steering click")
- shocks
- bushings here and there.
- wheel bearing or two.
- exhaust? (you'll want a Simmons or Remus sport exhaust anyway ...)
- Throttle Body probably ...
most of the above have very inexpensive fixes. all are within the grasp of a DIYer.
the car is a completely different driving experience from a c900. I love my Aero, and so does anyone who drives it! As a 20 yr 900T veteran myself, I esp like the subtle nod that the designers of the 9-5 made to the 900 and 9000.
But you will miss your 900 anytime you have to work in the engine bay ... it's damned cramped in there.
get the Aero!
