I would remove and replace the connector.... a couple of times to be sure it is seated properly and no dirt or other debris is preventing good contact witht he wires going to the stering wheel controls.
Is this SID the original repaired unit from your car, or a repaired unit from a donor car that Guy had on hand?
The Tech-II programming allows use of the "distance achieveable with fuel remaining in tank" feature, and eliminates the error message at start-up. All other functions worked on my new SID for the year it took me to make an appointment to correct this minor issue. Guy then repaired this same unit 2 to 3 years later when it also experienced major pixel failure.
